This and the popping noice really sounds as a bad connecting in one of the 3 connectors at the bulkboard to me..

Poping noise might be unburnt fuel getting through to exhaust (hence wet no.1 not firing) have you tried obvious plugs & leads?

Had the plug out to see if any spark?

Crankshaft sensor gap can royally fook things up as well!

Also a compression check wouldnt hurt, burnt out exhaust valve would cause noise/poping through exhaust manifold.

Phase sensor is 0.2mm - 0.3mm.
Crank shaft sensor is 0.6mm - 1.0mm

Check you have the phase sensor wires the correct way round, that one got me!

Swap injectors see if the problem moves to the swapped piston, then you could isolate it to wiring or injector? Just a thought.

We learnt that one rather quickly when first fitted it, made an awesome bang on firing her up for the first time

Jas checked the gap last night (as I'd mentioned Sunday - it'd done a few miles so could've 'moved' - especially given who fitted it ) the gap was quite big and *fingers crossed* she was running well last night (I almost gained my first 3 points )
