does it matter if they are upside down as long as the relevant pipe goes to the same place??

well im thinking it shouldnt matter anyway as its not like a normal fuel injector where the spray pattern is important and wouldnt work the wrong way round.

noob to turbos, but what do Air Injectors actually do?

Do they just leak boost in a controlled manner?

they supply the actuator with air, the actuator then acts on a "gate" if you like to allow air to bypass the turbo or go through the turbo

the air comes from the front of the turbo, into the air injector, through the air injector and as above to the waste gate

the ecu controls how much air goes through the injector, this then effects what boost you have

hope that helps a little

To give information, many tuners charge for a twin injector setup when in reality only one is used. Fuel injectors burn out, gas injectors should be used.

You can tell by looking at your "air" injectors, you will see different part numbers on each, this confirms an owner has been conned. LOL.

As stated correctly they need to be gas injectors, BOSCH have NEVER made ANY air injectors, all the ones I've seen sold as air injectors are CNG injectors, as to whether they will overheat under prolonged hard use is anyones guess, but they don't seem to.
Could also use a amal valve.

If they are both the same then they will both be working.

The normal used gas injector really only needs one due to its flow capacity.

a pair have always been used in parallel to obtain the correct impedance for the weber ecu
depending on the pair of injectors used dictates whether an in line resistor is required.
you cannot obtain the correct impedance for the weber ecu with one injector of any type
