Anyone? Is there more than 1 shade of green tint? Are they the same on the 4x4 as the 2wd?

There are "slight" production differences in the shades, but these are more of a batch-related thing rather than a facory option. Also, manufacturers have a slight difference, e.g. Triplex versus Sekurit, etc...

You should not really be able to notice a difference though unless you look very close.

If you want to double-check any windows you have, put a clean sheet of A4 paper behind each one and that will highlight any difference immediately.

there were clear, green and drown tints available, but most cars had the green tints

the front windows come out after striping down everything else from the door as they are a bit fiddly to come out

if you can prise the runners out then it's even better but they are tipped forward at the front so that back comes out first

if you've got the 90 spec onwards doors then they have additional security fittigns around the door lock which may need to come out too

Are the arms meant to pop out of the lower runners?

no mate, the arms are supposed to stay on the mechanism and there are 2 plastic round runner things stuck on the ends which are supposed to pop off

but it's easier to slide them off the end

i'm sure i've got a few bits of glass in the garage next time i'm round i'll take some pics to show you what i mean

saffs only came in green and clear all cossies were green! and the windscreen is bonded the same as the back window so you will need the correct tools to get them out or make one hell of a mess you will also need the correct primmers for the gass and body / bond to glue them back in trims are re useable!

there are 6 pop rivits that hold the mechanism in place, if worse comes to worse, drill them out and move everything out of the way, or at least the front 2

and yes, they are a twat to get back in, i always used a pair of big pliers
