Default What are the Limitations of.....

A Standard Small Turbo Escy Engine.

Is it just the turbo and management?

Or is the head a worse design?

Can someone explain to me please.

Basically would i be able to bolt a bigger turbo on and l8 or S8 and achieve 400bhp?

Or will the head only flow say 330 in standard form?, im aware that when worked it can flow much more, i.e Gaybirds engine or Yums etc etc.

I take it these engines themselves are pretty good though?

i beleive they are the best engine as a base to start from but its just the management that holds you back, change management and the sky is the limit as they say (or maybe just your wallet is the limit )

cant see how the head wouldnt flow enough for 300bhp m8, unless he means the ancilliaries that would obviously need changing, fuel pump injectors etc

Why on earth isnt the head good enough for 300bhp?

Std turbo etc is shite, but purely the engine (ie block/head and everything inside it), itd decent

the heads are the best heads to work i was always told

but then standard i can understand as they wasnt built for more bhp, was built to be drivable and a decent flowed head can make alittle more lag

Nothing woring with the management, infact it's far better than the marelli - it just needs someone from blackpool to sort it out.... Turbo is a very good one, but isnt designed for over 300hp.
