Wink mk2 fiesta mod idea's but need help

hi

well the time is near now to where if everything goes well i might be able to get myself a car and be on the road soon!

So heres what i have in mind.
Im now looking out for a mk2 in desecnt condition 950/1.1 really any colour but burgandy really.
But heres my idea's
Fitting an xr2 dash(need some info eg how to fit rev counter and stuff
fitting an aftermarket oil press gauage and also a fuel to air mix gauge(how?

also do the 14" escort steelies fit?
and hwo can i lower teh car by 1-2 inch
and i wouldnt mind fitting 2 spotlights to the front bumper
and i really would like a sub and amp another battery in the boot and then 6x9 in the parcel shelf and in the rear quater door cards and 2 in the front door cards( going to make some custom door cards for the front and back tho from plywood, drill out the holes for the little clips to mount them to the car and then mdf over the top and the some acoustic carpet over the top of that with teh 6x9's in then.
but if i want an amp and sub in the boot what do i do becuase of the spare wheel and the washer bottle filling etc? or would it be a good idea to make the right handside of the boot from plexi glass and then have the amp fitted to the back of the rear seats with the amp mounted onto the plexi glass and have the battery in the right hand side corner of the boot.

so if anyone can help with anything or have any pics of this please post them

thanks
rob

Default help with ideas

Hope these help... 1.1's are better than the 950 bit more power for motorway's. Burgandy's nice but can be a common colour so ive gone for a home made one of a kind blue on mine but you could get any colour mixed up for ur's the more original one of a kind are best if you going to show's coz that way you really stand out. an xr2 dash is easy 6 torx bolts and old out and new in. the rev counter is slightly harder but this should help "The rev counter. You'll need to pull a cable from the dash to the coil in the engine compartment. The cable needs to be spliced into the green one (top one). fitting an oil press gauage and fuel to air gauge come with good instructions on how to fit. the 14" escort steelies will fit as ive got 15's on mine and they fit perfect. to lower the car the best idea is just to swap out the springs for the rears just jack the entire arse up and the springs just pull out and the fronts are same as any other coil overs. lowering kit's to all sizes are easy to get hold of and reletivly cheap. the 2 spotlights on the bumper, kits are available on ebay for the brackets needed. a sub and amp single 12" would just fit on the right hand floor board that way its all in one box. but if you get the right amp you can also run the 6x9's off it too as far as another battery in the boot, i'd use a power cap as its easyer to wire than a full battery and charging system. and for the 6x9's in the front you could mount a small amp behind the das to power the doors.

Depends. If the car already has a higher spec dashboard (XR2, Ghia, 1.4i etc.) it will be ~16 hex bolts.

There were four different instrument clusters available:

1. low spec dashboard, low speedo range, no clock, no rev counter
2. high spec dashboard, low speedo range, clock, no rev counter
3. high spec dashboard, low speedo range, no clock, rev counter
4. high spec dashboard, high speedo range, no clock, rev counter (XR2 only).

Low spec dashboard instruments are smaller, you can't fit an XR2 instrument cluster.
AND: I'm not sure if the high spec clusters had the same wiring loom connectors (w/o clock / w/o rev counter).

If the connectors are the same, you'll just have to run an additional cable from the ignition coil to the instrument (when it's not already fitted).

To change the whole dashboard there's much more work to do. You'll need the complete high spec heater unit, the whole dashboard, the instrument cluster, many connectors and some other parts.
