RS1800 running ST170 6-speed
Anyone else out ther running this conversion?
Got the box and cables etc but wondered what people are doing with the driveshafts?
Been on to Dave Mac Propshafts but they were wanting close on £600 for a pair of shafts but didn't really want to spend that much. Car will mostly be used on track but not on the strip.
Anyone have any measurements or companys they have used?
Also, what clutch/flywheel combo will be needed? It's a silver top Zetec turbo.

My conversion uses the Dave Mac shafts and a custom lightweight flywheel mated with a helix 6 paddle single plate clutch. It cost me around £1300 including the purchase of the box and cables etc.
It sounds alot and is....but I know that it won't break. You could try and make your own shafts, cut and weld them etc but would you be replacing them after a short time of abuse?I don't know but can't afford to find out.
Speak to Luca, Simon at Sitech Racing etc. They have run cars with this conversion done for a long time and other than Luca's box casing break there hasn't been a failure of the cluych, flywheel or shafts(if I'm wrong let me know!)
