i got some ferodo ds2500 brake pads. they're really really good, it felt like i had a whole new brake setup. the only downside is cleaning your wheels every outing cos the dust is really bad but a minor downpoint.
gotta say without the dreaded belt driven abs, with new fluid, well bled along with new front and rear standard brakes i am pretty impressed with my standard setup for road use- prolonged abuse i'm sure they will fade but it ain't poo thats for sure
maybe your master cylinder or fluid could do with replacing?
my fluid is new how will master cylinder make a difference? what pads do you have?
i have just the standard type bought from halfrauds, the master cylinder transmits the braking force to your calipers at the end of the day- if it is worn you'll be getting a softer less efficient braking process i would have thought.
just my 2pence as i don't think the standard brakes are that bad in good order- the mk6 RS2k uses the same 260mm brakes with more power and weight and they work ok lol
i got the same set up as mojo however im running 1.1 drums at the rear and my car stops when i tell it too and it cost less than a 100 for the pads and disks
my standard set up is pretty poor at the mo but it has been standing for 2yrs
new fuild and clean up they should back up to speed
always found standard set up good unless running alot of bhp
Only place I would put Greenstuff pads is in the bottom of a bin. I have a clip on YouTube of my brothers 165 chipped (at the time) FRST. Couple of stops and they were smoking like mad. Will post link this eve as I'm at work and it won't let me on
Changing pads on a standard setup wont make the pedal feel any different, no matter how good the pads are.
Try getting them bled through properly an i bet they will feel a mile better mate

Correct in the pedal feel, but change to a better pad and you will feel a difference once its bed in
Oranoco - the top of the bin will be just as fine for the coloured stuff pads mentioned, In fact anywhere in the bin will do not just the bottom
240mm was the future Rick lol - and it used to give me the bruises on my shoulders after events to prove it
