Black Escort Cosworth
To the OP, remember that the wax you use only accounts for 10% at best of the overall look of the car. The depth of gloss, richness of colour, sharpness of reflections and so on are all created with the preparation stages and any subsequent wax (or indeed sealant) will only slightly enhance this and it's primary function is to preserve the finish you've created from claying, polishing, and maybe even glazing, beforehand.
Zymol Concours and Swissvax BOS are superb waxes without question, but you don't necessarily have to spend that much to get a great finish - If you're on a tight budget you'd be better off spending on products to clay and polish (ideally by machine, but hand applications are still worth doing), and getting a cheaper wax. Spend on something like the BOS by all means if you can afford it, but it's not strictly necessary is all I'm saying
My black car, for eg. has been machine polished with Menzerna polishes, and glazed with Poorboys Black Hole yet the wax was 'only' Natty's 'Red' which is less than £20.

Usually, I'd recommend a Poorboys Wax, Collinite or maybe at the most (in terms of price), a Dodo Juice wax to most people who ask. But on black and darker shades of blue, I just think Concours excels.
XR2 looks superb though mate, not tried Natty's Red, but always been impressed with the finish of Natty's Blue
Very wise words.

Very little difference between the blue and red imo. other than the smell lol! The only reason I go for the red is that it comes in the wider tub (from some retailers anyway) allowing better access for loading the pad (plus you can keep the pad in the tub for at least a couple of car applications without having to wash it out each time).

I'd recommend www.cleanyourcar.co.uk for the bulk of the products. That's where I buy most of my stuff from
and www.johnswax.co.uk for any Zymol products
