Right,
I'm going to try and explain the problem as he's in the garage tearing his hair out.
His brake servo had a leak on it so he took it apart to try and fix the problem. Now when he's put it back together there's no pedal feel or anything now. He can't bleed the brakes at all.
Does anyone have any ideas???

Right well,
from what I can gather when he put it all back together his mate (dave) put his foot flat to the floor and there was no pressure there at all!!
But Scott said that it doesnt matter if the ignition is on or not the problem would still be there sorry, I'm just passing on the message as he's in the garage??
Any more questions as to what it may be??

Its goes like this
Servo had a leak so scott tried to fix, but when back in car fault has got worse so to save time Scott has now got another servo on its way so it can be swopped over.
Its like when you try to put something back together there is aways bits left, so l reckon it was eat by amy

Fair do's he took tthe servo apart but I'm sitting here looking at the parts so what could he forgot to put back....
Give me as lesson on brakes I'm learning more every day!!
dont talk to me about brakes as i am having problems with mine the fronts bleed up ok but the rears, well the pump runs but no fluid is coming out the pipe on the top ? and the pump would just keep on runing if you let it any ideas on that one please ?
Claire
I think the problem is that it could be missing something after its trip to Halfords,
There could be a couple of things that have gone wrong
1 missing something
2 the new seal has not worked
I think when the new servo and pump that turn up on Wed should do the job, just needs to be fitted and blead, think the problem is that when the unit went back together something has failed or maybe missing
Hope this helps claire?

Claire,
What we need is maybe a group meeting for all the north east people that are mechanical minded round to Scott and Claire's to fix the cossie, the deal is that Scott will lay on free chips to the guy that fixes the cossie.
Dave Easton need not apply as he broke it in the 1st case (sorry dave) , Maybe Paul from North York spares can take a trip over?
I would pop over but a little busy Wed and its 280 miles away
Hope it gets fixed

the servo uses vacuum from the engine to work
if there is something in the servo that is missing or broken, it won't work
you should still have brakes, just not without the servo
from reading between the lines here it may be that the master cylinder has had a leak, the brake fluid has leaked down into the servo, the servo is now fucked due to it being contaminated with brake fluid
a new master cylinder seal and a new servo will be what's needed as you can't just strip apart and put a servo back together again as they are air tight
the spring will probably be from behind the brake pedal that gives you the "spring" to pull the pedal back again if it is about 2 inches long and not very tightly coiled
hth

ok, if it's a cossie then the brakes will be different and all the above won't make sense as the "servo" is electronicly operated via a pump rather than fed from the engine vacuum
Easier than fucking on with it and thanks for the call mate
I hate it when she's had a drink, she tends to waffle on and repeat herself a lot and says the word "Seriously" about 20 times in every sentence
see you's all at the weekend
Fuckin cossies do my head in!!!!
