i prefer a early legacy rs like what prodrive rallyed inthe early 90's,i had one and it was great, i have never seen a old v8 in a subaru though so its a first for me.

 

Yeah the older Legacy is very cool, unfortunately the boy racers out here ruin them by making them rear wheel drive so they can be "drifters"

Every silly young boy out here has a Subaru so they are very un-desireable to me now.

 

barry out of interest how much is a old 89 or 90 legacy rs 4 cam turbo in new z ?, i used to see the prodrive lads in the gt estates bitd. i have seen mcrae rally a legacy rs and that was what made me get one.

the japs had the proper rs ones though and iirc there was a rsr which was sti tuned,i do like a big legacy salloon.

i reckon shipping would be about a grand ish going by how much it was a few years ago when i had the prices from the biggest importer of second hand cars from jp in the uk.

my car was roadtested and was timed to 60 and to 100 and was quicker than subaru claimed. it was a great car and what started me out on subarus.
i not long ago got shut of my impreza and it was a mint car with some nice mods but fook me they are common,a legacy rs ra is what floats my boat now

Thanks I bought it as a standard car and modified it over a few months. It was the Jtuner magazine car of the month at the Legacy thrash (in the snow) at Bruntingthorpe and practical performance car used it for their buying guide

There aren't many models that would tempt me back to Subaru but a series 1 RS is one of them. I nearly converted mine to a series 1 and I should have done it.

me and me mate followed the car around that year,i even once talked to the geezer who owned it after he bought it from prodrive back in 93.
He has had loads of prodrive cars and that particular one was his first,also used to have prodrive spanner for him on poxy single venues but when your a multi multi millionaire with more money than you know what to do with you call up prodrive and spend iirc 150 thousand on it. he used to polish it in service on rallys
