Default My car over the years.

Ok first of i brought this car back in Dec 2006. it was sitting in a barn for sometime, the owner purchased it back in the first half of the 1990s
it was more of less standard with just a couple of mods, namely a bleed valve, K&N and T.I.M 2 bar boost gauge. Not forgetting the AVO damper kit lowered 60mm & 3 spoke TSWs......Proper old skool!!!
the car needed some work to get it looking tidy again.

It took 5 months to get the car on the road, wasn't gonna rush and bodge the whole job up.
i had new rear inner wings and arches fitted, a new battery tray fitted and several areas needed patching up. the car looked ok when i picked it up and for Ł790 it seemed a good car to work on as an ongoing project.

after i had it on the road i booked it in for a respray, end of may it was finished, i had it looking like this after the many months:

Then in July we had 'that' flood. most of you will remember this pic:

Yes thats the Honda car park in Swindon.

things didnt look bright after that day..... after many tears and anger moments i had the car back on the road 6 days later. I worked none stop after work to get the car sorted.

Things started the look good again, sadly some of the paint work got ruined, my mistake, shouldnt of gave it a tough polish paint seemed a little soft still, but i didnt let that keep me down, i started on the modding route, Samco hoses & replacement Recaro, the drivers side bolster was beyond repair, but the whole interior after the flood was kept.
over the months i brought new parts and fitted them bit by bit, noticed when i turned my car off i had a bang/pop from the engine.
so off went the car to the tuners, diagnosis was a blown turbo housing. So a replacement was ordered, while i was at it i got my hands on a stage 2 ECU chip and a Forge intercooler.
had a call from the tuners and after a dicussion a Stage 1 turbo was ordered.
I had to wait a week until the car was finished. the RR set up gave me a good output, 190BHP at the wheels.

Kept the car on the road until may 2008. i decided to sort other stuff out. a new front panel was on the list as was a 90 spec exterior.

then i decided to get more parts:

Had Monster (from ROSC) make me up some VIN plates:

after that an Airtec rad and turbo cooler was fitted. found a secondhand grs intercooler on ebay, expensive still. Now regret buying it.

There was no way this was gona work out, my plan are different, i want the spots, no bonnet pins and no cutting of the front bumper.
So today i ordered an Airtec front mount.

while im waiting on that i got some kenlowe fans( i brought the airtec without fans, by phoning Alan at Auto specialists)
Im at the stage of buying finishing the front end off, i got a Bosch fuel filter, brand new header tank and amber indicators.

now im currently at this point:

(minus the GRS now)

the 90 spec bumper and spoiler are the final parts to go on:

should hopefully finish the car off within the next 2 weeks, after that i need a new dizzy and the engine timed. All ready for this summer.

they used my pic for the 'what bothering us this month' and my letter was published the following month where i won best mail that month. i won a Pipercross air filter, which i donated to a poorly RS near me.

RABREITH paid Ł600 ish for it,but needed doing as i had new inner and outta rear wings fitted and a replacment bootlid, i had spend most of my savings so was a wise choice to just get it done, after all it was a daily driver.

its showing its age after getting painted. but still better than painting the wings etc with rattle cans.

i think one reason why it survived the flood is due to the age of the car, newer cars have to many electrics etc and arent build to last as long as old cars.

plus i knew i shouldnt start the car up after doing all work needed.
