Question XR2i 16v - misfire at 1-2k

an xr2i zetec i may be getting as a swap for my 4studded ax vts setup will need to have an engine problem resolved but the owner doesnt know whats teh exact cause of it...

its running 2.0 cams and the 2.0 ecu, K&N and a scorpion exhaust as its only engine mods, but its mis-firing between 1-2k.... does anyone know what could be causing it and what could cure it? the car will be getting trailered back home anyways to a mates bodyshop as it requires the fuel filler to be looked at its gettin a bit rusty around it so better catch it now rather than later.

want to have this on the road for the summer and start attending a few shows in scotland with the guys on here and get to know everyone.

cheers

neil

Could be the ht leads or plugs, is is chipped? They always cause problems on Zetecs.

2.0 cams and ecu on a 1.8 engine?
could it be the MAF sensor? i'm kinda guessing with that though.
