Hi, I am wanting to build another zetec turbo engine with steel rods and low comp pistons ,prob one of the packages you can get from the states,
Does anybody know if I can use a focus black top engine in my mk4 escort as I am using the silver top at present but is not to well Lol, but want to use the black top as the parts are easier to get and a wider variety but the issue I have is, Is the water pump on the later engines a problem? or is there any other issues, Has anybody done one.
Any info is much appreciated,

Yes it will go in ok, engine mounts need attention but its do-able!
Water pumps are avaiulable that run the opposite way from normal & when the belts hooked up the orientation is correct.
I've a blacktop installed in my Mk4
