been a while since ive posted on here,, anyways put a whole new brake setup on my rs, hi spec 4 pot fronts 280mm discks, and a cossie rear disc conv, removed the abs and ran new pipes to the T-joints, fiteed a brand new master cylinder last year,
put in for mot today(which it passed first time

) although the brakes are rather shite and on the brake test the rears seemed very poor as did the front, i have run braided pipes also,,
bled the sytem twice now and still seems soft pedal and not a £1000 pounds worth of braking power, anyone shed some light on my problem?

Do you still have the load compensators on the back?? If they're sticky or not set up correctly that should account for poor rear braking?? I know it was on mine at its mot last year.
As for your fronts, I don't have the knowledge on four pots but I believe they're a bit of a pig to bleed??
Or could the master cylinder be drawing air??
I say this as I removed my ABS last year, re-piped the system and fitted cossie discs and calipers as well as fitting a new seal kit to the master cylinder. Left the drums on the back, set the rear compensators up after cleaning them, flushed and bled the whole system and my brakes are spot on now.
Hope this sheds some light for you!

probably got air stuck in rears as they sit at the wrong angle when bolted in place on rst , you need to unbolt one of the retaining bolts and swivel the rear caliper so the bleed nipple is upper most so the air can rise to top and out

Here's a link to the eazi bleed thingy... forgot to mention this is what I used to flush my whole system.... you wouldn't believe the crap that was flushed out of the rear of the system!

I had to do this on mine, was a right bastard, had to unbolt the caliper completeley and lift it just outside the wheelarch, you must make sure however that you have the disc or something the same thickness between the pads to stop them moving inwards.
