Default adjusting boost, cossie

ok really really dumb question and im expecting abuse for this post
but which bloody way should i be turning the actuator bar to lower the boost?

had a quick go on sunday, i thought to lower the boost you should make the bar longer so that the wastegate opens sooner?
surely making it shorter so you have to stretch it over the wastegate arm means its guna hold closed for longer?

but even with it so long that it only just holds the gate closed it was spiking up near 2bar (foot came off throttle very quickly )

boost was fine before but had to take the actuator off to do something

am i just beeing a thick inbread?

any HELP is appreciated

Lengthening the rod will lower the boost.
It must not be lengthened to less than 3mm of preload under any circumstances.

ok thanks stu, just dont get whats going on with the bloody thing boost was fine before, but had to take the actuator off to do another job, didnt have much time but tried it from aprox 4mm preload to 0 and was still getting +1.8 bar of boost, even though at 0 it was taking bloody ages to boost as it was obviosly leaking loads of air

what happens when you go under 3mm then? apart from it not boosting

btw, apart from me not being able to set the boost the rest of the map seems really good (i set the co at 3% just till i can get it double checked on a rr session, this will be ok wont it? )

drren if your using the amal valve.. are you sure you havent reconected the pipes the wrong way round and hence creating 'unlimited' boost?

3% will be fine if youve sorted your 900Psi fuel pressure out first?

Amal connections:
W = Wastageate actuator
C = Compressor housing
R = Return.

I bet youve put the actuator pipe onto R

As for preload, do a search, theres some pretty large essays around on that subject already

The great thing is, if you had switched on your two stage boost, the boost would probably have gone down as you activated the R port your actuator is piped onto
