hi all just finally after about 12-18months rebuilt the engine loom etc from a rst cab into my cab come to start it and i have fueling issues they are that the

fuel pump
fuel accumilater
fuel filter

are all working as they should and get fuel to them metering unit but then no fuel at the injectors but the fuel return has fuel going through it

so thought it was the metering unit so i changed this to fine the same thing ??

rest of engine turns as it should building pressure etc and sparks etc then gives a dump sound then starts all over again

so any one any ideas thanx alain

 

Take the air filter off so you can see the flap on the metering unit.Get a friend to lightly push the flap while you turn the engine over.Should start,if not you have got an air leak somewhere.

 

Get it to MSD as he is in blackpool and heard good things.

 

car not running it'll be going to msd when finished to be setup properly but it needs to be running as i'm fully qualified mechanic i can do the work myself but this is the first turbo i've work on just needed ideas where to look thats all mate

thanks mercury will try that when i next down there think the flap was moving though so will check for air leak think first meter head could be f**ked anf this one has a small pipe coming off it where as last one didn't it could be amal valve pipe so will put amal valve in place to as it has been rmoved from this car ?? for a in car adjustable valve see if this makes a difference
