hello all my erst has just started over heating the water system seems to be over pressurising and popping my hoses. ive checked for blockages and changed the stat it just builds up pressure and starts bubbling in the hoses. is it possible that the head gasket has gone could that be putting the pressure in the water system? although i cant smell fumes from the water tank!!

 

is the thermostat working?? cud b a problem

 

does it do it if you leave it idling? or does it become aparent when its been on boost?

could be a few things, could start with a leakage test and see if any bubbles show up in the header tank

 

no it does it whe idling aswell just takes abit longer if i left it running eventually it will pop a hose with the pressure ive removed the stat and flushed all the hoses and rad all clear im thinkin now head gasket? could the water pump be drawing in air?
