HELP.....my heated front screen isn't working. Anybody have ideas what I need to check?

 

does the light come on?there pretty common for not workin

 

my light comes on but it dosent clear !!!

 

Could you check a relay. It's a gray one near the pink relay.

 

A crack in the windscreen can cause this as it happened to mine and when I got it changed it worked after that.

 

If you've got a multimeter, see if you've got 12volts at either connector to the screen. If you've got power, then remove the clock/courtesy light (2 screws) and check the earth for the screen is tight and clean- it may be minor corrosion between the screw-head and the earth point.

If so, remove the screw and clean-off the rust, then refit. Mine did this several times and cleaning the earth always cured it.

 

can you get new heated windows still

 

Yup, autoglass did mine for £60 through my insurance.

 

Light for rear screen works but light does not come on for front screen

checked the grey relay next to the fuel pump relay underneath the steering column - can't see any obvious damage like I could on the burnt out fuel relay I replaced a couple of months back.


Havent got a voltmeter - is there anything else I could try?
