s1 and s2 dipsticks the same ?

Default s1 and s2 dipsticks the same ?

got a s1 block in my s2, lost the dipstick, got a s2 dipstick from a mate, but it doesnt feel right

aye the sticks the same? and are the tubes the same lenght ?

I don't think they are the same length to be honest. The dipsticks are deffinately different.

Length is probably the same but the S1 has a oil level sensor on it for the oil level light on the dash (oil level, not pressure).

Theres 2 dipsticks for the s2, a pre 90spec has a metal end and the 90spec one has a plastic end (just been readin a buyers guide for a s2).

dont know if this helps i just wanted to be a smart arse

the s1 dipstick tube is shorter than the s2 as i had to cut down a s2 tube as the s1 is no longer avaliable from ford.
The dipsticks are a different length, important that you have the right dipstick for the tube you have in your block

i've change metal for a plastic, no problems with heat now...

the s1 dipstick/tube are different in length to the s2 ones cant remember which but i wouldnt use your car until you got the right one as you wouldnt wanna over/under fill!

edit to say just saw gaz's post above. that'll be the right answer then lol

cars not getting used just now,, hasnt been for months


anyone no then if i change the s1 tube to a s2 tube then it will giive me the correct reading ??

i take it if you are using the s2 dipstick, then you need the longer s2 tube, still avaliable from ford

I brought an S1 years ago, the guy fitted an S2 tube with an S1 stick and filled it to the max, oh boy, yes there was about 8 litres in the bastard, only realised when i booseted it and covered every square inch of the polish bay
