Default Digital Mileage Correction/ Speed sensors.

How do they do this on digital dash cars???

Im currently making a sub-loom so i can fit a digital dash to my puma as an upgrade from the original mechanical speedo.

Obviously i want the correct mileage on the dash transferred from my mechanical odometer.

How do they do this on digital dashs??? does it need to be via the ECU and data link connector???

Its important as running the digi dash on my car means its not connected to the ECU or DLC.

Do they take dash off car and plug it into a computer or is it a DLC issue???

Also I need to fit an electronic speed sensor. I know on the IB5 box there is already a speed sensor for the engine management and the speedo cable is fed off it for mechanical dashes. Do you reckon the ford speed sensor will fit in the same hole on the mt75 4x4 gear box where my speedo cable is currently fitted???

If you look in the back of the Autotrader there are loads of mobile mileage correction peeps. You need the software and a laptop and I presume it's done through the diagnostic port.

incorrect, cdh did do some laptop based stuff but it was shit to say the least, my unit is hand held, and originally cost £8000. some cars can be done diagnosticly, some you have to remove dash and connct with a cluster plug, others you have to strip the dash and solder or go dirrect to the eeprom with a clip, and some cars are a complete nightmare lol

its a legitimate trade, it is a sideline to my recovery truck and mobile diagnositics etc as long as the bills are paid and what i do is above board then so be it.
