I cut mine too, grade 2 all over.

My sis spends about £80 for a trim and bits of colour, it's crazy.

Cos it normally takes a lot longer to do womens hair and they don't get it cut anywhere near as often as men. I need mine chopped every 10 days now with this style. Before it was once every 3-4 weeks.

Yeah my ex is a hair stylist, they charge the earth, but it does take a long time, so it's the time they're paying for more than anything else.
She still cuts my barnet for nowt though, as I kept her sweet, I aint totally stupid.

i have got a shop in sidcup high street and was approached by lee stafford to open it as a salon so i got my builders in and work started today on it were doing interviews this week and hopefully it will open in 6weeks time if anybody is interested in working there they need to be very well experienced and have there own client base but the stafford corporation will provide the training needed to cut to his standard, he said the other day that he will come along and cut hair at my salon after it opens as it is a franchise of his buisness but it will be 280 per cut wow i pay a fiver at my local chop shop but thats apparentley what the ladies want so anybody interested in working there that fits the criteria please pm me

My dad works in Knightsbridge and there's an Italian stylist that he knows and he charges £35 for men's cut! I went there once and he left it to me for a score

i don't think you've EVER cut yours

i borrow the clippers from my dad and give it some frantics round the old bonce and all it costs me is the leccy i use and some hot water to rinse it out with afterwards

but the local barber still wants a fiver for it

and, here's a story which shocked me just like it's going to shock you:

i thought to myself "today, i think i'll get my hair cut" so i wanders down the road to the closest barbers, walk in, sit down and start to read the paper

and he says "excuse me, but do you have an appointment?"

i looked to the right, i looked to the left, then at the fella who was talking, and then to his mate "an appointment?"

"yes sir, you would need to book an apointment as we are not free until 3pm"

i looked at my watch, it was 2.10pm

"how much wil it cost?"

"depends on what you want done, but our prices start from £10 sir"

"so even though there is no one here, you want me to come back in an hour or so, after having made an appointment, and then charge me at least £10, to get a hair cut that i can get for a fiver down the road?"

he gave me a funny look

i put the paper down and went home to find my dads clippers

My Wife's a hairdresser and now works for herself and does very nicely

Salon prices are ridiculous especially when the pay the hairdresser actually gets is pittence (unless you are one of the best)

A basic cut with Nicky Clarke will be £250+

Working for yourself you can make £20-£30 an hour compared to in a salon at <£10/hr

I do mine myself. I'm growing it at the moment anyway, but when I do get it cut it'll back to grade zero all over.

There used to a class barbers in town, two nice old-ish chaps who'd been there for donkey's years. They took early retirement at the beginning of last year and some young chap took over. Went there once and the price went up from £4.20 to nearly £7! Fooooook that! He was shite as well

i go and have a wet cut, no blow dry for £15, and do the colour at home

i use my mum as my own personal hairdresser,
dread to think how much it would be if i went to the hair dressers at 50quid a time,

as i've had, red, brown, purple, brown, and purple again in my hair within the last 2months!!
much cheaper at £5 a bottle!!

that's typical women trying to justify buying stuff and spending money that is

i've spent a fiver on a hair cut in the last 3 years (and yes, it probably does show but i don't care )

and if you ad up all the bald guys on the forum, which is probably about 50% bald by chioce/as nature intended, that arguement soon goes out the window

the female members on here probably spend just as much money on their hair as the blokes do on their cossies
