MK3 Mondy moosing?

Default MK3 Mondy moosing?

Had a strange whining noise coming from the engine the other day, intially thought that the drive belt was failing, called out rac as i didn't wanna get my hands dirty lol, he couldn't find an actual fault but thought the air intake was sucking air from somewhere.

After a bit of research it sounds like it is what they call moosing, ford know nothing of the problem appartently and when i asked them for the modified resonator pipe they said the pipe wasn't listing as having a modifaction to it!

Anyone know the part number of what i need, or indeed the TSB number so i can point them in the right direction?

Have a look underneath the rubber pipe that connects the airbox to the throttle body. You will see a yellow ball valve thing that should have a black connector pushed onto it. These always pop off giving the symptoms you describe.

Ok, been a while as it shut up for a bit, but i have been out today and had a look.

I have got anything under the main air pipe and therefore no yellow ball valve thing. Have clean out the Air Idle Valve just incase, but it is still doing it.

Anyone got anymore ideas? Help, it's most annoying!

The yellow ball valve thing is there but it'll be quite hard to spot as its tucked away behind something.
