Default rear brake issues

i have sierra cosworth 2wd rear disc conversion on my mk4 escort and in a word they are 'shite'.
the handbrake is atroucious and they always seem to bind.
in reverse they bind something terrible.
i thought the calipers were siezed but i fitted some recon ones and they were exactly the same.
to top it off they are too powerful for my car as its stripped out and they lock alot, i fitted a bias valve and rudeced it as far as it can go but they still to powerful.
so i ground half the pad surface away and they are still a bit too powerful.
BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i really wanna keep them though as they look perfect on my car.
so can someone tell me if i am doing something wrong or what?!?!?!?!?
its as if they cannot release properly, i know they screw in but once they have pumped up they dont drop back enough to stop binding

defo got a problem somewhere
i fitted a set to a rst coule years ago now, no probs with binding or locking up
was a great upgrade tbh,
check that the calipers are winding back easy enough
and that the fluid is returning to the master after the pedal is released,
as this is a common fault with the newer escorts, the flexi pipe collapses internaly and doesn't let the fluid return, so the brakes bind on

I would get the rear on axle stands, then press brakes as normal, see if they bind, if they do crack the bleed nipple top see if it is under pressure.
It's a lot more likely to be a handbrake/cable problem.
Another thing you need to consider is what pads are you using on the rear, the same as the front I hope, if not different friction levels ie higher at the rear can also cause this, are the rear dampers good ?

its got braided lines all round.
my car is stripped out so the rear is very light so lock ups are easier,
did have mintex rear pads but went down to some cheapo ones to reduce the power of them, still wasnt enough so i fitted a bias valve and shut it right down, its now alot better but still is too much.
so i removed some of the surface area of the pads with a grinder and its better but still too much.
the handbrake has always been useless, all the happens if i yank them is the cable was pulling through the adjuster so i fitted a jubilee clip to it so it doesnt pull through but it still aint the best handbrake.
so do you think ive done something wrong in fitting them?
i screwed the pistons in then fitted the pads, then pumped em up

I assume with the stripped weight, it is a track car ?, you will have problems if silly light on the rear.
What suspension are you using ?

its not a track car, its light at the back coz of no interior.
had all different setups suspension wise, currently got new shocks and springs which are softer and travel more than the coilovers i had b4 but its not a great deal of difference on the brakes locking

How are your front brakes, if they are a bit seized then they would be lagging behind the rears in effort, can you lock the fronts ?
