Default still needing help :(

my car still won't start

thought it was the CPS, which has now been replaced, and also a new connector on it.

when i turn the ignition on, the fuel pump comes on but doesnt go off, it runs continuously.

Fuel is getting up to the injectors no problem.

I can't get spark now either, which I was doing before.

Anybody got any other idea's for me?

It's a 1.6 CVH Efi Turbo if you guys don't already know

Cheers

Keir

the car cut out on me while i was driving one night, hasn't started since.

Checked the fuel supply and spark, both ok. we fiddled with the cps and it started again, but cut ou later on. Each time we fiddled with it, it would start then cut out, which led us to beliece it was a faulty sensor.

each time it cut out, fuel pump was staying on until I turned the ignition off.

replaced the CPS and the connecting plug as me and my mechanic thought that's what it was.

now fuel pump still staying on, but now no spark

it might sound really silly but when you changed to CPS plug are you 100% sure you connected the two wires the right way round???... im sure the pump running on is caused buy the ecu picking up a sensor fault (limp home mode)..

Someone else mentioned limp home mode, pity it can't even limp 10 feet!

Tried swapping the wires around too, no luck

the wire is all sealed up and goes nowhere near the engine or anywhere hot. I'd hate to have to strip it all back
