Default what turbo should i get

Hi im fairly new to the ford scene i bought my first ford in may it's a series 2 escort rst the turbo went yesterday it was a standard turbo but i don't want another standard turbo because my engine is not standard it's running at 220bhp could anyone recomend a good turbo for me please and the best place to get them i can't afford a new turbo second hand only .
All help would be realy greatfull thank's ewan.

You will quickly learn that buying used turbos will ultimately work out more expensive than buying new

How do you know the turbo is faulty?

I did think that, never bought second hand.....when i have they have gone straight for refrub.

the shaft is loose and the oil feed pipe for the turbo burst

Depends on what's fucked mate.

Call some places and ask. Turbo Technics, Turbo Dynamics etc...get some figures....you may find out by the time you have added up the costs of buying and refurb it will be more, also, don't forget you need money for a set up/tune. Don't just whack any old blower on and expect results.

ok i will phone around i will just have to bite the bullet and save up and get a new 1 the car will just have to sit up the side of the house thank's for youre help.

2nd hand turbo's are a definate no no imo....bought one to 'tide' me over and it was £200 down the drain, from a bloody trader too!
