Fu**ing RS Fu**ing Turbo's!!!!
Fitted my Stage 2 turbo today and went out for a spin to set to boost as it was before, all going well and then fucking smoke pouring out of my bonnet!! Bastard oil return pipe has split where it goes into the block
There goes another fucking £45 for a new one, which incidently this one was only a few months ago
and another puddle of oil on my drive to try and clear up. and could probably do with some more oil now aswell!!
Sometimes this car really winds me up!!!

one day my oil filter had a pin size hole in it, didnt know until smoke was fucking everywhere, ended up doing oil change at the side of the road...... looking back at it was funny really.

do not put a jubille clip on the hose that returns oil to the block. The pipe expands with heat. If it is on tight with a jubillee clip it will guaranteed split eventually especially with higher boost going through the turbocharger

the standard ford expanding clips. Forget there name, you need to crimp them open with pliers then slip and release the handle on pliers so they lock on tight.
They are the standard for items and are best.
When the pipe gets hot and expands the metal expands and the clips expand slightly and allow enough movement to stop the rubber pipe splitting.

It is true, for example Viper hoses state the following "SUITABLE FOR: Any Water, Air, Coolant, oil breather applications. Not suitable dedicated fuel, oil or brake fluid applications. " and thats £21 a metre!!
I would imagine you could get blocked oilways, blocked lifters, and maybe a clogged turbo,etc...! But what we can say for 100% is that the oil will not 'behave' as it should because of being diluted with rubber!

Ohhhhhhhh, ok then.... not good!
I remember the oil return pipe went on my XR3i and I cut the bend off another XR3i hose (cant remember which one, but it was from the top half of the engine) Did the trick and cost nothing.

Sorry pal its not at all, it will fall to pieces if you fill it with hot oil. Its nothing to do with pressure, its the actual compound used cannot withstand the chemicals in oil.
The same thing happened to my rs, if you over tighten the jubilee clips on the pipe as its on such a bend it will just slice threw it, I put the orignall ford ones back on not a problem since, did it split on block return section if so thats your problem
Yes mate thats where it split, and i'm 100% sure it's because i overtightened the JC's, will go back to using the normal spring clips from now on!
Not from Ford it's not mate, the Oil Return Pipe from the turbo to the block is £45
Or £60 from our somewhat expensive friend Alexcabrio!!
