ok, as a lot of people, im fitting rear discs, and have bought a brake bias valve to fine tune the set up
i also have a non ABS master cyclinder, and a load of -3 goodridge braided brake hose
my main concern with the set up is how to plumb in the rear brakes. iv had a couple of different pieces of advice, but want some more input
1 place says i should blank off 1 of the rear outlets on the master cyclinder, take a single line from the remaining rear outlet, through the bias valve, and then split with a t-piece under the car, with a line to each rear caliper
the other place said i should take both lines off the master cylinder, t-piece them into 1 line from the bulkhead, through the bias valve, into a second t-piece, and 2 lines off to the calipers
which would be best suited?
also, i had only ever planned to do the rear lines braided, and do solid copper for the fronts, as people were worrying me with the fact that i may end up with a spongy pedal with it fully braided, due to expansion etc. i dont want the front brakes to lose any power, cos as it stands they are only standard s2 calipers, new, with the 283mm cossie disc conversion. so would the front sb better off solid copper line, or will braided line be fine and im just being worried for nothing?
sorry for the huge essay, but need to clarify this so i can get it all plumbed in
cheers

To be honest the ABS master cylinder would have been fine for the job, theres not really any difference between the two in terms of operation. And if you have an RST the non ABS item you have bought will be smaller than the original.
Being realistic with you i would say don't fit the rear discs they arent really worth the work involved.
If you want to go ahead with it though you are best to keep the ABS master cylinder, and you need to replumb the system. Currently you will have a diagonal set up meaning one front and one rear caliper are operated from each piston within the master cylinder.
You need to run both front calipers off one outlet from the cylinder, and both the rears off the other. The bias valve simply needs to go in the pipe from the cylinder to the rear of the car. The piping alterations should be fairly easy if you keep the ABS cylinder.

reason i have a non abs master cylinder is due to my car being a conversion, so just got a non abs unit, upgraded it to 1 off a 1.6 though incase its bigger than the 1.3, but defo not an rs turbo abs item
my main confusion here is the fact that i have a non abs cylinder i guess. im currently trying to make use of 4 outlets, whereas the abs cylinder only has 2?
can i still safely make use of the non abs master cylinder, and block off 1 of the rear outlets, and just use the 1 remaining? this is my main issue really

actually, considering this logically, i agree this might be easier with an rs turbo item
ive just been looking at pics and noticed the rs turbo definitely only has 2 outlets, so this is 1 piston in the master running the fronts, and 1 piston running the rears, not a 2 pistons running 1 of each
so basically just a t-piece on the bulkhead to split the fronts, plus a t-piece after the bias valve for the rears?
wish id realised this BEFORE i confused the shit out of myself!!!!

well now that issue is sorted..
any views on braided brake hose, complete, not just caliper runs?
i already have the -3 goodridge stainless braided hose, and plenty of it, so not like expense is an issue. all i need to buy is the fittings
am i going to get massively spongy pedal feel going complete braided? the rears i want to do braided as it means i can run inside the car to and from bias valve much easier. but the fronts im torn between braided and solid, as im only running standard s2 calipers at the moment, and dnt want to lose any of their minimal stopping power and feel
lol

already have 50m+ of goodridge stainless braided -3 hose, so only need the fittings to suit, plus bought a set of goodridge braided caliper runs a couple years back, so im pretty much set cheers mate, offer appreciated
got nearly 400m of goodridge -4 brake and clutch hose
, if anybody has any use for it
oh yeh, and just to update, got me an RS turbo 2 outlet master cylinder, and transferred my non abs reservoir on to it, so problem solved fingers crossed
