MFI: Remove Oil Cap, Still Idles.... Bad?
I have been having an issue recently with white smoke on warming up to which i posted(https://passionford.com/forum/ford-escort-rs-turbo/276567-s2-smoking-since-bailey-breather-fitted.html) but i thought I'd remove the plugs and give them a clean and have a general engine tidy up session.
Any how, I removed the oil cap whilst idling and the engine never even dropped a rev. Thats not too good is it?
On the underside of the cap is a tiny amount of creamy fluid, but it is only a tiny amount. Now seeing as the weather lately is in the minus and frost/ice is a regular occurance, Im putting that little bit of moisture down to that....
... All these issues have started since fitting the Bailey Breather. Coincidence probably??
Any help would be appreciated thanks.
(And no, it hasnt been set up in a while... thats next months gift!)

ive had loads of xr3is that still tick over with cap off and never had a problem with them but on rs turbo they do cut out.
on my s2 the seal on my dipstick aint too clever and that affects my tickover speed.

Ok guys, I have just been checking out the very useful 'Similar Topics' linked under the thread and it seems that the engine should cut out when using standard breather system but when using Bailey Breather/ Oil Catch Tanks the engine shouldnt cut out.
Kinda makes sense that its changed since fitting the Baileys Breather lol
