Boost pressure control valve
hi lads a mate of mime has got to swop out his Boost pressure control valve......amal valve he has a big turbo escort cosworth . the thing is he has a black one on his car and he has just got his hands on 4 new ones 2 black and 2 brown is there any diforenc in them and should any of the ports have a restrickter in them and if so which ones thanks for your help

 

The airbox return stub usually has a restrictor in it, they are only a simple on/off valve so can't think the colour would mean anything apart from maybe different supplier to ford.

I assume you're talking about the amal valve?

If so I've been told by my tuner that the the black ones are used on cossies and the brown ones are RS Turbo ones.

My amal valve packed up on my saph when it was being tuned, but i brought with me a brown one. When I gave it to the guy doing my car, he said it was no good as it wouldnt be able to handle the increased boost pressure like a cossie one.

How true it is, i have no idea.

 

Cossies have the brown/black ones? I've never seen an all black one on a cossie unless its from the eeciv managed escort....
