HOW SAFE ARE REMAINING TEAMS?
BMW Sauber - secure
Large budget, safe despite 25% slump in BMW sales
Ferrari - very secure
Future not in doubt. Huge fanbase, beating heart of F1
Force India - secure
Owned by billionaire Vijay Millay, well-funded for 2009 at least
McLaren - very secure
Sound finances, strong core of sponsors
Red Bull - secure
Owned by billionaire Dietrich Mateschitz, money no object
Renault - vulnerable
Manufacturing losses make team vulnerable to Honda-style pull-out
Toro Rosso - safe
Also owned by Mateschitz - how long can he sustain two teams?
Toyota - vulnerable
Very large budget, car sales down, could struggle
Williams - vulnerable
Big losses in 2007, no car maker or billionaire backing
link copied from the bbc website, which appears to be pointing fingers at redbull, toro rosso, renault toyota and williams as being potentially the next to pull the plug on their f1 invovlement
but where as f1 is the pinicale of motorsport, if there are only 5 teams in the running, what will happen?

customer cars supplied by the likes of ferrari, mclaren, to privateer teams using the proposed standard cosworth customer engine
this would be a sure fire way of a cost effective entry into the world championship, with a decent chance of success

You are entitled to your opinion but I think thats bollocks.
This season and last season in F1 were great. Great championship fights and plenty of action
A1 gp is as dull as shit...why bother with another 1 make series, theres far too many already!

couldnt have worded it better myself
At least with A1 GP its all about the drivers as all the cars are the same.
with F1 it will always be between the top two teams who have a massive advantage against all the rest!! what exactly is exciting about that?

So just like formula ford has been since the 70's then? But at least FF has some good up and coming drivers who will make it to the top, unlike A1 GP
F1 is far more exciting. I never saw any press about A1 GP winners or A1 GP controversy last season...or any season. The reason is its a another dull as shit one make series that nobody cares about with little commercial value. The technology is old and boring and the drivers are either never going to be's or F1 has beens who couldnt cut it. Bloody hell, Ralph Firman was competitive when I was watching it

Fuck me GP Masters was 10 times more exciting than A1 GP
FFS, towards the end of the year, the top 20 were covered by about 1.5 seconds in quali 1, is that not competitive enough?
A1GP barely gets a mention in any of the papers etc, no prime time tv coverage, unknown drivers etc, its as good as a lesser feeder series. You really think that any of the A1GP drivers wouldnt jump at a race seat in F1?
