Default Pepsi to dump Aspartame!

Bout time too. Hope everyone else switches to this, instead of that poison!

http://www.naturalnews.com/News_0005...diet_soda.html

PepsiCo said it's ready to rock with stevia-sweetened soft drinks as soon as the FDA ends its decades-long ban on stevia in foods and beverages. It joins Coca-Cola and Cargill in ramping up plans for stevia-related products in anticipation of FDA GRAS approval.
Now that may not be overly interesting, until you read this!......

The FDA has kept Stevia illegal for well over a decade, most likely to protect the profits of aspartame, a chemical sweetener that failed safety testing and was pushed through the FDA approval process by Donald Rumsfeld.

Stevia is a safe, natural sweetener with zero calories, making it a strong competitor with aspartame, Sucralose and other chemical sweeteners. That's why the FDA kept it out of the food supply for so long, even going so far as to order the destruction of recipe books that offered stevia recipes.
What I want to know, is anyone bothered?

Aspartame is around 200x stronger than 'cane' sugar. So strong it'll excite braincells past the point of functionality, aka a mind supressant.

Getting it out of Coke and Pepsi although a huge step is literally the TIP of the iceberg. These hidden additives are woven throughout most of the GM food market...and some shite shelved as 'organic'

Sounds preachy but you REALLY DO want all the E numbers out of you and yours diets. Horrendous stuff.

If you can prove it made you ill, then yes, you could try. The MIB would kill you first though.

More interesting stuff...

http://www.newswithviews.com/NWVexcl...xclusive15.htm

According to the top doctors and researchers on this issue, aspartame causes headache, memory loss, seizures, vision loss, coma and cancer. It worsens or mimics the symptoms of such diseases and conditions as fibromyalgia, MS, lupus, ADD, diabetes, Alzheimer's, chronic fatigue and depression.
I wonder if it's one of the reasons for Americas "larger size" population.

The medical text, Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic, by Dr. H. J. Roberts is 1038 pages of symptoms and diseases triggered by this neurotoxin. The claim is made that aspartame has even caused the epidemic of obesity because it makes you crave carbohydrates so you gain weight, and the formaldehyde accumulates in the adipose tissue (fat cells) according to the Trocho Study.
And Donald Rumsfeld used to be CEO of Searle, the company that made it. Searle got bought out by Monsanto buy the time it was pushed through Congress, but you can bet he still had a large amount of shares in that company. Who said policiticians would never try to kill us?

On a personal note, it always something I've avoided, cause it tastes fucking horrible. I can always taste it. Someone once put a spoon of that "Lite" sugar in my tea, and nearly spat it across the restroom.

I dunno lots about this stuff, but I know that I don't like to drink diet-coke etc. stuff. I know that it's more unhealthy than the "fat"-coke and it even tastes like crap.

Tho I don't drink that much any lemonade whatsoever, when I'm thirsty I prefer water.

I'm sure here is plenty more I eat and drink that has shite in it.... I used to drink pepsi ALOT even to point of takin a gless to bed for in the middle of the night, then my wife joked i was becoming like a drug addict with it, and after thinkin about it she wasn't far off so I pretty much stopped.

I have the odd can, and if I do drink a cola based drink it's full fat Pepsi, but if a drink a couple of cans a week i'm doing well. So I dont think it'll bother me much.

A lot of fizzy drinks, even the full fat versions STILL have aspartame in them, its properly ridiculous.

Hopefully we'll see other companies follow suit now, would be great to get muck like this out of the food chain, it should NEVER have got approval for anything other than table top sweeteners in the first place IMHO

And yet only a year ago...

http://www.smh.com.au/news/World/Asp...623862983.html

The US Food and Drug Administration says there is no need for an urgent review of the safety of aspartame, despite a new study showing the sweetener may cause cancer.

I wonder what effect on cancer rates and obesity it would have, if it was banned instantly everywhere!

Of course there's still all the other shit they put in our food. But it's a start.

Thats it, and how long before we know what Stevia causes, why we were wrong to doubt the GM corps, how it's in our best interest to have our brains turned to pigshit.

Across the board its setup now that the things we love/crave kill us and build empires. EVERY one of these issues is veiled enough that by the time any accountability is to be had, it's too far gone. Only in the last couple years it's been mentioned that fags contain arsenic, hydrogenic cyanide, benzene etc. The point is as much as you make something alien or harmful for 9/10 people it's a deterrant, that other one it's inspiration.

I dont know about that specific make, but yes most are.

Its ironic, as some idiots take them when they are trying to lose weight, and dont realise they cause obesity, lol

The ONLY people who should be having sweeteners in anything IMHO is people who medically cant have sugra (diabetics for example))

Just checked and splenda isnt. But if you follow something like Slimming World, then you have to use sweetener instead of sugar purely because of the calorie content.

oh and im getting thinner not fatter, and i use sweetener daily in my coffee

Sarah, it causes obesity by making your body less able to process certain chemicals properly, so if you are on a very strict diet you are unlikely to be effected as you wont have all the sugars in you from other foods etc in the first place for it to effect, but if you have a mars bar and a diet coke, you would be better off with a mars bar and a full fat one basically.

its better to just cut the shit out totally if you wanna be healthy or diet.

reason everyone is probably ill so much and getting things wrong with them is all this unhealthy fake shit thats put in.

lot of natural organic foods and stuff taste better anyway. but people disagree as lot of the time its what they have been brought up on too

I don't have any soft drinks day to day I just drink water or milk, only time I come across even lemonade/Vimto will be rare occasions I use them to mix with spirits like Jack or Tequilla. Coca-Cola and the like have always been evil shit and we just don't know what else is out there. Anyone who uses a highly addictive drug just to boost sales is dodgy IMO.

Splenda is brand name and its Sucralose, meant to be much more sweeter than sugar but with no or little calories, I consume that in my whey protein powder and it sends me whappy sometimes, proper short fuse at trivial things. Lots of people say the same.

What was that other chemical beginning with A that is in lots of products like biscuits, baked goods and was all over the BBC news a while back? Meant to cause major cancers and all sorts.

A new study ??

I was in the US in 86, and 88....for some strange reason, I recall reading on the package of some artificial sugar, warnings that Aspartame can cause cancer.
