On the sapphs that have heated washer jets, are they on all the time(with ignition) or just with the heated rear screen, or something different, sorry haven't got me manual here at the mo, thanks

iirc when I had a granada cosworth they only heated when the screens were on so would think that the sierra is the same

got tols they come on as the temperature drops and when the red light comes on the display to say its icy

 

it's with the screen, i'm sure it's the front screen too as it was part of the options after the 90 spec

funnily enough, i've got some sitting in the drawer

 

Still available new, were Ł21 something the pair.

i've alway's wondered the same.. i presume all other car's fitted with heated screen's an jet's will be the same?

 

like the heated mirrors,would of thought of come on with the screens

 

The heated jets are wired directly into the front windscreen circuit. Black/violet wire and a brown wire. Both go across the bonnet to the drivers side where they connect into the front screen loom just next to the fusebox.

They will only come on for a maximum of 4 minutes, which is the standard timer delay for a front windscreen.

 

likewise, heated mirrors are available with the rear heated screen
