Default Golf convertible?

Was after a GTi for the missus but a silver Golf Mk3 2.0 Avantgarde convertible has come up. They worth a butchers?

Why not? there good cars golfs.

Just check the gearbox is ok, especially 1st 2nd and reverse as my old 16v golf was a nightmare sometimes to get into those gears, sometimes id be sat there for 2-3mins trying to select it expensive repair aswell ŁŁŁ's, thats the main reason i got rid of mine really.

oh right, not too sure but its a VW and there not THAT old so shouldnt be any problems with it.

If anyone is after a golf its obvious there not after a fast car isnt it? and my modded 16v golf wasnt bad on fuel, no worse than my 1.8 escort gti for example.

Image? i agree there not the best looking cars especially the drop top mk3

Seems pretty solid, although the engine management light has just come on!

No.

Drive shit. All leak like a sieve eventually. At some stage the roof will pack up. As will the central locking. Only Convertble VW worth owning is the Eos. But maybe thats a bit steep at the moment.
