Why not? there good cars golfs.

Just check the gearbox is ok, especially 1st 2nd and reverse as my old 16v golf was a nightmare sometimes to get into those gears, sometimes id be sat there for 2-3mins trying to select it expensive repair aswell £££'s, thats the main reason i got rid of mine really.
