2 bar Map sensor
Hi friends,
Is it ok to use a 3 bar map sensor (Magneti APS0501) to replace a faulty 2 bar map sensor (Magneti APS 0203) on a standard sapph cosworth 4x4? Would I alter the engine/ecu behaviour. Turbo model is TB0384.
Apparently APS 0203 has been discontinued. Your help and knowledge is greatly appreciated.

Dunno, depends if you can get a suitable chip. Might as well just go for a Stage 2/3 conversion (chip/injectors/3bar/optional_t34)..
If you want the car standard, then buy another 2 bar.

Yes standard I would like to keep it but the problem is that magneti marelli no longer manufacture 2bar sensor. There are other similar and cheaper 2bar on the market but dont know their reliability. Thats why I asked about the 3bar which is still in production by magneti marelli.

you cannot change a 2 map sensor with a 3 map bar sensor; it will not work
if you intend to keep the car standard replace the fault map bar sensor with a 2 map bar sensor
if you want more power, as said above; you may as well go for stage 3; which invloves a new chip, new injectors, different turbo (maybe), bigger intercooler etc

So, am I right to say that at 10 psi boost a 2bar map sensor sends a signal to the ecu which is different than that from a 3bar map sensor at the same 10 psi of boost? Is this why if I use a 3 bar sensor it will not work? please elaborate. thanks.
