Default Any BMW techs or experts out there ?
BMW M5 evo - semi auto gearbox problem -stuck in 3rd gear - wont start as not selected neutral - been advised its poss smg pump - how easy or hard is this to sort out... any help would be appreciated... thanks

Not sure what you mean M5 evo or semi-auto?!

What model 5 series? Current is E60....

1996 year 3 series M3 evo with the semi auto/tiptronic gearbox in it....

the SMG's are utter shite in the e36's m3's - forever packing up

if youre lucky it'll just be the pump or related components

altho those gearboxes are notorious for breaking so its probably fucked.

you cant fix them either, so it's replacement time and theyre not cheap! lots of people replace them with manual boxes when they break
