Default Engine bay cleaning and "pimping"

Got monday to sort engine bay out... i just got the car and i been welding underneath all day today.. i fancy a change so am going to go and clean the engine bay.

Just wondering what you guys find best.. products and methods. Its got a crome rocker cover, suspension struts, polished plenum and blue samco's but it just looks shit in there... all dirty and horrid... if anyone has any tips for someone on a shoestring budget to make there engine bay immaculate then let me know... any pics of bays would also be cool!

steam clean would work..prob have to dry dizzy out after tho...happened to me a few times...if your not taking engine to paint i would reckon black paint would be best so its not so obvious if u miss a bit etc..i used hammerite on mine..easy to apply and can stand the heat

My hats are off to anyone with a clean engine bay... i fucking give up! Bought some gunk ultra and been at it for a couple of hours with a tooth brush and gunk... it dont really look any different! Im going to have a functional engine bay rather than an immaculate one!

Im pissed off i wasted so much time trying to clean it and it dont look much different at all! ah well!

What do I need to mask up before i start jetwashing?

Cheers

Truckwash is a chemical cleaner you can water down and spray on before jet washing the trade use it a lot and works very well any valeting supplies will sell you it ,i buy 25 liters for Ł15 so not expensive and this is not watered down so lots for your money, you can buy it in 5 liters ,would spray on some wd40 on the leads dizzy etc and connetors ,mask up alarm box ,be prepared for it not to start after so you will have to clean and dry stuff out ,so you will need the car to be somewhere you can leave it,then when its dry you can repolish any ali as it will fade it and spray any bits that look tired
