head bolts

Default head bolts

do i need to re-tighten head bolts after a certain mileage? engine was rebuilt about 2k ago and hasnt been touched since..has been sitting for 18 months and dont want any more head aches

im sure i could if i tighten them more if i tried...heard stories u have to reighten them on certain cars nd wasnt sure if tht counted for cvh that is all

Sometimes people tighten them as normal, run the car for a bit and re-check them with a torque wrench. You not thinking of that mate?

yeah u dont need to re tighten them,just check them,as u do 90 bends to tighten them, u cant really check the torque, but if u marked them when u done it in the first place,all ya gotta check is the marks are still pointing the same way

That's right as there isn't a specific torque setting for head bolts, just tighten them, mark the bolts, then 90deg, then another 90deg
