What should be the top speed of a 4x4 cossie

I tried today , 6000 rpm at 133 mp/h , does that soud correct?

Fast Ford quote 150mph, but I think that is just the manufacturers figures, I think nearer 140-145 is more the norm, not seen a road test as such.
best idea to look on web for road tests etc.

6rpm in 5th and your speedo was showing 133mph??

yes 6000 rpm and 220k/h (220 is 133 miles hour)

i'm running 17 inch rims with 215/40/17 tyres

that aint right on my 2wd i have had my speedo over 160mph on a few ocassions!!you sure you got standard ratios etc?

i guess i best try a navi in the car and read the gps speed , prob the most accuarte way of knowing what speed i'm doing !

ive had mine round bout the 160 mph mark a couple of times(private test track ofcourse)
but all speedos read wrong, bout 10% out and i would assume that due to age of car it would b worse on a cossie,

be careful though holding the car on full throttle for long stints in 5th it can all go wrong quickly

i guess the speedo is miles out , rolling radius for std tyres size is different from the 17 inch

rev counter should be fine , it's on multi coils from stu !

i go to germany to do this , first proper motor way is 10 miles away from my house

dont quote me on this but i think at 2000rpm in first you will b doing 10mph
2nd-20mph
3rd-30mph
4th-40mph
5th-50mph

yes thats true even the the speedo is showing 160 plus probably ony doing a true 140 odd!but a cossie can do over 150 in standard format!

a 2wd saff will go off the clock on a stage three so thats well over 141 even if the speedo,s out

Internal ratios: 1st, 3.62; 2nd, 2.08; 3rd, 1.36; 4th, 1:1; 5th, 0.83.

Final drive: 3.62:1, 22.24 mph per 1,000 rpm in 5th.
