Hydraulic lifters.
Does any of you guys know if there are different manufacures of lifters? I have found a link to a add on ebay

Have anybody used those ones?
I have fitted a Kent cam kit and now just after 100 miles, several of the lifters ticks like hell.

you cant just change the lifters mate, if it's tapping your cam will need changing too!
Cams and lifters work harden in the first 20mins of being fitted (if fitted correctly), so you cant put old with new or the new will be softer and get ripped to bits by the old!

he just said hes fitted the whole cam kit so wot you on about karlos
you need to check your oil pressure mate- its a common reason for premature wear- the least likely to wear prematurely are genuine ford lifters but i think even ford use cheaper bits these days
its mostly luck of the draw if you get a good quality set of hydraulic cams/lifters even when paying kents prices

Lifters should last loads longer than this, either it hasnt been run-in properly or there is a serious lack of lubrication.
If there is a genuine fault with the cam/lifters, speak with kent. I fitted a CVH33 to a friends Escort and it didnt last long, it was sent back to Kent and they replaced it FOC.

What i'm on about is exactly what i said above!
You CANNOT fit new lifters to a cam that has already been run in (20mins @ around 2000rpm if done properly, if he didnt then that explains the problem!), because the Cam will be hard and the lifters will be soft and as a result the cam will destroy the lifters in no time.

The running in process is purely to work-harden the cast-iron cam and as it only spins half crank speed, the revs must be held @ 2500rpm to prevent the lobes "knocking" slowly against the lifters. Once the cam has been runn in you CAN fit other lifters providing they are new. Back in the day i had an original RST with 68k on the clock which was sweet as a nut, put some lifters in for the hell of it and it was perfect still!
