Lifters should last loads longer than this, either it hasnt been run-in properly or there is a serious lack of lubrication.

If there is a genuine fault with the cam/lifters, speak with kent. I fitted a CVH33 to a friends Escort and it didnt last long, it was sent back to Kent and they replaced it FOC.
