could just be normal pitting that happens in alloy, looks like he needs antifreeze though

ive not seen a running engine that bad before, looks like its been stood for years, and the water( without antifreeze ) has gone from the waterway to the fire ring, and corroded the head, what was the gasket like?
pics can be deciving, but that doesnt look like it will skim out.
can you get det under the fire ring?i would have expected a lot more damage around gap between the valve if it was caused by det.
is it just the one cylinder that has the problem?

the engine had been stood for a while then fitted to a mates car only water put in the engine then but it was only on the road for a while ( 3 weeks ) then after a bit of a nailing one day he parked up then restarted but it was smoking real bad with a misfire and it was down on compression on number 3 which has the worse pitting , the gasked looked ok it was quite pitted on edge of valve and it was a bit pitted on all but real bad on 2 even worse on 3

as already said, the engine has been sat for some time
alloy tends to corrode over time, will it can start in a couple days if left in damp conditions

There can be many causes of head gasket failure, the usual being block or head faces that are not completely flat (this includes localised low spots such as between cylinders on blocks), cylinder head lift due to inadequate head bolt clamping, abnormal running conditions such as detonation or extermely high temperatures, and of course the use of substandard headgaskets and components.

I cannot comment on any of the above problems on your engine, except to say you are using a very low quality head gasket, so that alone could be your problem. Use a genuine Ford/Payen head gasket and see how it goes. If it blows with that fitted you have one or more of the issues Ive listed above!!
