Sky plus problem

Sky plus problem
Does anybody know the fix for when a sky plus box will no longer pause or rewind? Sure i've seen it on here. I turned the power off for 10 mins earlier and it seems ok at the moment...
But i think there is a better fix as i'm sure i've read about this problem before.
