I would probably start by bleeding it to release any air trapped, i normally do this by starting the car up from cold with the header tank cap off leave heater on 1 let it warm up once up to temp squeeze the water hose a few time should see bubbles appearing in the header tank wait till fan kicks in and cools it down.

if this dont work i would probably change the thermostat, u might as well change the fan switch as its not much.

is it the car in our sig coz it looks a beauty

hope you get it sorted

as two above,

Air the system, go pop the kettle on and boil it while ur making urself a cuppa pop some in a bowl and put ur thermostat in, should open, I just repalced mine. Check water pump is working fine and if not change that, think when i did my water pump while i had my engine rebuilt it was something like 40-60 pound. not that exspensive.
also change the fan plug.

I run my fan on switch as the fan plugs tend to frie and stop working. just a switch in the dash so once its a bit warm. say 1/4 warm and im town/traffic driving ill switch it on. i wouldnt bridge the fan so its on all the time as it may undercool and thats just as bad.

That heat Sheald aswell, that chrome RSTURBOone. Get rid of that while driving the car, they hold so much heat.. i also removed the plates under the grills on the bonnet to push more cool air in and out the top of the bonnet.

Other thing, Bonnet lifters work..

nice car tho..

why no thermostat? your fan is kicking in normally with no thermostat? is it a manual swith for the fan you have then?

About a year ago i have the same problem runing on 90ş and on red lights the clock just go up extremely fast, i just cleaned the radiator, changed for the 82ş thermostat and uprated to a NMS fan swith (93/90)... Now i don´t see any readings up to 94ş on my temp gauge... and that´s quite good on hot summers down here on Spain!

For start the fan you only need a fan swith... and it´s mounted on the thermostat housing. With or without thermostat inside the housing you can have a fan swith.
