rollcages which are best POLL
im interested in getting a 6 point bolt in cage for the 3 door which are best the rollcentre fia 1 or the safety devices fia 1 or is it just a case of same cage different company oh yeah and its a poll lol so please vote
Both are a waste of time in a 3dr . The 3dr shells need triangulating forwards and backwards to the pillars , floor and chassis to stop flexing . Cages are not just about safety they are about structural integrity but if you are intent on fitting one make sure the brackets to the floor are welded properly to the inner sills !

Have a real cage fitted to your car not a cheap bolt in thing. a custom made one (for competition not a shitty shiney thing that would break your neck if you crash) built into your shell and as Tony says this will add strength and also improve how the car perform's

Granted, it wont do much for structural ridgidity, but it will save your life when you roll it.................... as one competitor found out on last year's oakington stages (205 challenge).
come on wheres the peeps veiws that have these cages im not being funny but i just want to know which ones better there both 6 point bolt in fia cages just made buy different companys is 1 better than the other or the same just different makes im not interested in peoples veiws about weld in thank you
right phil its like this realy want it just for safety because will be doing a few track days next year and also going nurburgring so mainly for safety but also to look a bit kinky lol

Remember that even 'bolt in' cages have to have mounting points welded to the sills (or at least most cars do, not sure about a 3 dorr specifically) to fit properly.
And if you don't install it properly it may be more of a danger in a crash than a safety aid!
Sounds like it will be ok for what you need though, just go for a properly approved one!

I would say that they are both good, being FIA approved.
My cage is a Safety Devices, but for a Saph, so that the rear hoop sits further forward so that i can still use my seatbelts. Mine is also an older one which is proper bolt together. My mate has a new one in his 500, and he's had to ditch the seatbelts and sun visors, where i haven't
. The new ones also fit together using sleeves with a bolt thro' which imo looks a bit heath robinson

Danny - there's nothing wrong with a FIA approved bolt in six point cage.
Danny, since when have rollcentre made shit shiny cages ??
its down to your opinion on quality, your right there's nothng wrong with them but they are made for quantity and not quality, there poor fit and mig welded, My point was that if you want to spend the money on a cage then pay the extra and have a custom fit one made and have the option of it being tig welded and also the extra visibilty due to the far better fit within the shell
