Smile Escort RS Turbo Series 1 cold start prob

Hi everyone. I have hasd my series 1 now for 4 years with minimul problems,. The other day went out to garage and it wont fire. Tries once and then fails. The only way to get it to fire up is to push down on metering head while cranking and it fires right up. Have checked fuel pressure in the line and it is the 2.7 bar reccomended and stand still and 6 bar when cranking. No fuel pressure problem. Cold start injector not cutting in as its not cold enough. Have replaced the thermo time switch. No better. Have checked for a feed to fuel ecu and it has one. Replaced the KE relay last year so that checks out. Have a good spark and is serviced to the nines. When warmed up i put it on my Co machine and its running at 2.8 % co at 900 rpm at a warm engine temp. Everything checks out apart from i have no voltage to the petentiometer at all. Should i have 8 volts here when the starter is clicked to ensure full fuel delivery on cold start? Does any one know wheather the fuel ecu could be up the spout as i have replaced checked and double checked everything else!! Now concidering a managment change but wanted to keep her original. Any ideas would be appreciated as i have run out of ideas. I have a good idea of how boshe kE works but can not get my head round this one.

Thanks for listening everyone

Jason.
