i had a walbro in my car and it could not supply the fuel for above 370-380 bhp.
i had to get a bosch 003 or a 023 iirc.
I spent a day testing all 3 of those pumps and the walbro out flowed the other 2, You must have had a problem with it or power supply, I all my years or using the walbro I have only had 1 fail.
the bosch ones make a humming noise which is normal! i ran 003 and 023's and they were fine! i have uprated pumps and fiting kits for sale if ur interested..

Yes, but "uneven" noises and fuelcuts suggests that its not normal... When tuners like mr. Shead above has tested, and the cheap pump flows better, why spend more money on one that doesnt work as well?
you want at least 12 volts, if you are only getting 12 at the pump, you are already dropping nearly 4 volts from the battery. if you are just about to change your pump i'd rewire it using the original pump wiring as the signal to switch on your new fuel pump relay., that is run direct from the battery in heavygauge wire.

Im not saying they are crap, mine might have been a unlucky one. Im trying to say that the Walbro does the job just as well. Which he obviously has proved

Mark
did it supply the pressure also.
i had the car mapped by Karl and it was fine when fitted with the Bosch.
I have recently changed my pump to a Bosch 003 to run 330BHP as this keeps it as an intank system.
Was told that the standard unit could easily handle 1 bar of boost, so if your only running standard power just stick with standard, they are still available from fords with the sender unit if you feel you need a new one and will be a straight swap.

I should of said, you'll only see 12v with the pump out as the engine won't be running. If you can test insitue with the engine running your correct you'd want to see 14.4 v.
I have an 044 in the tank on mine as i found it out performs 003 and 023. It was just a b***h to get in the tank with a filter on as its meant to be an external pump.
