Default Focus RS: Cult Car?

How reckons that in say 10 or so years, the Focus RS (Mk1 Focus, not the new one yet to be launched) will be classed as a cult car? The same sort of status as early Escorts, XRs, RSTs and even the Cosworths have these days?

Im sure it will be on a par with an RST or XR now.

Cant see it ever really being viewed like a cossie though.

Focus RS is just the RST of the future, nothing else.

As an owner of a Focus RS i would love to say it will become a cult car but tbh when you think about it realistically i agree that it doubt it would become a cult car as it will never have the appeal that the cosworth models did

it all depends i think this site is pretty much blinkered by the {has to be high powered cos or its not worthy mob}all fords have a massive following so i would say yes one day it will... mk1 xr2 is now considered a worthy classic a couple of years ago most would scrap without a second thought

But saying that, its the best FWD handling car Ford ever made and quite possibly the best FWD anyway, so that might have some sort of baring on it

I think you might find that the dc2 integra type-r is regarded as the best fwd car ever produced

Not really, ive never ever seen the Focus RS claimed to be the best FWD ever, barring the Focus fanatics.

It's all relative.

Cults are for objects you couldn't have at the time but in later life have the cash to get them.

Everyone replying knows Cosworths and Erst's etc, you all grew up with those, but couldn't have them.

Focus RS could well be a cult car but to the kids of today who know nothing of Cos and Erst.

Meanwhile you'll all be waiting for your bus passes and won't care about cults.

How would we class all the different versions of Evo's and Scoobs? Are they cult cars? What makes a car have "cult" status? I honestly only think the RS500, 3dr and Escort Cosworth are cult cars.
