Ford rebuild lock kit

when i bought my van i asked for the drivers door lock to be changed as someone had had a go at it in the past, when i called in to see when it would be ready the bloke was fiddling with it, looked far too complicated

btw that was just some random garage, not ford.

you get the barrel
you pop the circlip off the end
the lock comes out
it won't fall apart as it's got so much grease in it
look at it to see how it goes together
don't loose the locking pin
don't jumble up the numbers of the tabs
don't forget how to put the washers back together again
other than that, it's easy

If I went into my local Ford dealer and asked them to rebuild it, they'd probably say that the part was obsolete on their system so would refuse to talk any further nor give any advice
I've got locks c/w new keys too. I'll have sit down one night and have a look......... thanks all.

OK, can anyone help me out with this?
I have taken apart my petrol cap lock. The only trouble is, the wafers with the numbers stamped on, don't match the key number.
Numbers on keys.
222413 (Not actually in that order)
And the numbers on the wafers....
3x "D", 1 x "2", and 1x "3", and one blank (that looks like a "D")
I've nearly got it to work. I can twist the petrol cap from the back to lock it, but can't do it from the other side with the key. Doing my nut in.
I thought the "D"s might be "2"s, but then I've got a wafer with "2" stamped on it. "D" can't be "1", as there are 3(4?) of them, and only one occurence of the number "1".
Is there some sort of secret code?

i have done it by goin the car breakers yard and pulled a few random locks out of passenger doors that havn't had much wear and stripped them and then made sure i have pulled the numbers out carefully of the one that needs rebuilding and boshed it all back together, its tricky until you do it a few times infact i have done it and then a few years later struggled until i remembered how to do it
