Would a badly ground cam cause low oil pressure? I've done a cam swap (new cam fitted with new lifters) and my oil pressure has plummeted. I was wondering if it was badly ground and the journals were smaller by a tiny tiny amount would this cause bad oil pressure? Its on a cvh btw

 

Is it low pressure all the time, or just at tickover/high revs?

 

Its higher at cold start and does pick up slightly when rev'd at warm. But it is nowhere near where it was with the old cam

Old cam -
Cold start 80~psi
Warm rev'd at 3000rpm 40~psi

New cam -
Cold start 35psi
Warm rev'd at 3000rpm 20psi

thats a bit odd... sure you didnt drop anything in the engine while you were changing it?
